Dennis P. Tubbs age 69 of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at Marion General Hospital. He was born in Marion to the late Robert A. and Mary L. (Bunch) Tubbs, in December of 2000, he married his loving wife Linda (Mossi) Tubbs.

Dennis was self employed for most of his life; he followed his passions in life and made them successful careers. He impacted and shaped the lives of many throughout his life in everything that he pursued. For many years he ran a successful automotive restoration business Denny’s Street Shop out of Big Island and then LaRue, Ohio. He was also deeply involved in drag racing, playing a leading role in the promotion and development of the IHRA & NHRA Jr. Dragster programs that now see tens of thousands of children racing with their families nationwide. He was an innovator and competitor who was always pushing forward.

His life was full of adventures: from cars to guns, he shared these passions with his sons, Brandon and David. In the early 2000’s Denny transitioned away from the automotive and racing market into another growing hobby of his, competitive shooting. What began as a hobby rapidly turned into another career, Gunworks Research & Development was born. After a decade of operation, his sons joined into the business, they intend to continue growing it. Denny was also involved with Meeker Sportsman Club where he had been a club trustee for over a decade. Denny was always taking a lead role in the advancement of the club as well as providing public access to firearms education and safety.

Denny is survived by his wife Linda Tubbs, His sons Brandon Tubbs and David – Maria (Lobacheva) Tubbs, granddaughter Vivienne, his brother Richard Tubbs and his sister Lisa Caudill.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Tubbs and his sister April.

As per Denny’s wishes no formal services will be held; however, he would greatly appreciate your presence at a life memorial party on Wednesday February 16th, 2022, from 3pm-8pm @ Meeker Sportsman Club 1658 Agosta Meeker Road North Marion, Ohio 43302.

A secondary event (or events) will be announced and held at a later date for many of his friends and family from out of state who are unable to make mid-week travel arrangements at this time due to all that is going on in the world.
